DEFGLIS members represented for the first time at Canberra's Fair Day - marking the start of increased engagement with the Canberra community.
The Spring Out festival aims to support, strengthen and promote the LGBTI community within the nations capital.
Our members engaged with a diverse cross section from the LGBTI community to let them know about the services we offer.
Throughout the day Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, Gai Brodtmann MP and Chief Police Officer for the ACT, Assistant Commissioner Rudi Lammers APM stopped by to commend the support that DEFGLIS provides for ADF members and their families.
Strong links to the community are essential for DEFGLIS to be successful, and our representation informed a number of Defence personnel about the organisation for the first time. We look forward to welcoming those new members into our association.
