Later this month, Brychan Hawker will join LGBTI skydivers in Chicago as part of the annual Rainbow Boogie, in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest all-gay skydiving formation.
Hawker will be making the long journey to Skydive Chicago to join in the festivities as well as hoping to be a part of a World Record attempt. In order to qualify, Hawker will have to perform well in a series of selection jumps to earn a spot on the final team. Skydivers need to demonstrate that they have the skills to be able to safely be a part of the team.
The annual Rainbow Boogie is a gay friendly skydiving event promoting the sport of skydiving within and outside the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community. Rainbow Boogie 2012 is a 4 day boogie that will be on Labor Day Weekend (August 31-September 3). The boogie consists of spectacular aerial feats by skydivers and night time activities for both jumpers and spectators alike.
In 2009 Rainbow Skydivers set a new World Record for the largest formation, being a 3 point 12 way skydive (this means 12 skydivers made 3 different formations in the one jump). In 2012 they will be again attempting to set a new World Record as well as having a fun long weekend packed full of skydiving and parties.
DEFGLIS wishes you Good Luck Brychan!
