Defence recently released an internal policy DI(G) ADMIN 08-2, which details social media policy for Defence members.  Key principles: make it clear you only represent yourself, protect privacy, protect classified information, respect the guidelines, and remember organisational responsibilities.

DEFGLIS is seeking further information from the Department regarding whether monitoring and record keeping requirements are applicable to our website, Facebook and twitter accounts.

DEFGLIS and the UK Army LGBT Forum have recently entered into an arrangement that allows Australian Defence Force personnel working in the UK to join and participate in networking events. Through the UK Army LGBT Forum, ADF personnel can gain access to many similar services offered by DEFGLIS including: professional networking, peer-support and connections to the local LGBTI community in the UK.  Similarly, UK personnel that are posted to Australia will be eligible to join DEFGLIS which will ease the difficulty of settling into a new foreign posting.
